TBR Tyres Wholesale Buyer Guide

A commercial guide to specifying wholesale truck and bus radial tyres for fleets, dealers, distributors and importers.

Truck and bus radial pillar

A TBR order starts with duty cycle and axle position

Truck and bus radial tyres are not interchangeable simply because they share a rim diameter. The right buying line connects size, casing and load requirement with steer, drive, trailer or all-position service and the road environment in which the tyre will work.

Thai Tire's truck and bus catalogue includes commercial references across 19.5, 22.5 and 24.5-inch families. Availability, exact technical data and application must be confirmed on the quotation for the selected product.

The information every TBR request should contain

Start with the complete tyre designation from the vehicle specification, approved tyre data or current sidewall. Add the axle position, single or dual fitment, load and speed requirement, rim, tube status and intended service. Long-haul highway, regional delivery, urban bus, construction and mixed on/off-road work create different wear and traction priorities.

Never infer load capacity from ply rating or appearance alone. Use the current manufacturer data for the exact size and pattern, then check wheel and vehicle limits. If the fleet is changing size, obtain qualified fitment approval rather than relying on nominal diameter comparisons.

Steer, drive, trailer and all-position patterns

Steer and all-position

Rib-oriented patterns are commonly selected for directional stability, water evacuation and even wear. Confirm whether the exact product is approved for the intended axle and service.

Drive

Drive patterns typically prioritise traction through block or lug geometry. Tread depth, shoulder design and compound should be matched to route, torque and surface conditions.

Trailer

Trailer tyres face free-rolling service, lateral scrub and irregular-wear risks. Load, inflation, alignment and turning environment matter. “All-position” is a product designation to verify, not permission to ignore application data.

On/off-road

Construction and mixed service may require resistance to cuts, chips, penetrations and stone retention. More aggressive tread is not automatically better for long highway work; application must lead pattern choice.

Compare cost per kilometre, not only unit price

Acquisition price is visible immediately; downtime, irregular wear, fuel influence, casing outcome and lost service life appear later. Track removal mileage, removal reason, tread remaining, repair history and axle position. Maintain pressure, alignment, dual matching and rotation according to fleet policy and tyre-maker guidance.

For retread-oriented fleets, confirm casing policy and inspect actual casing performance rather than assuming every product offers the same value. A first container can be treated as a controlled programme with agreed inspection intervals and performance records.

Build the wholesale TBR assortment

Group demand by size and axle. Deepen proven core lines and keep specialist lines tied to real fleet or dealer demand. A mixed container can combine steer and drive patterns, but the ratio should reflect replacement behaviour. Ask for the loading plan after the exact brands and patterns are known because dimensions can vary.

Browse the truck and bus tyre catalogue, then send the selected product links or a size sheet. The quotation should confirm current availability, technical data, quantity, trade term and shipment basis.

Frequently asked questions

What does TBR mean?

TBR commonly refers to truck and bus radial tyres: commercial-vehicle tyres built with radial construction.

Can an all-position tyre be used on every axle?

Use the current manufacturer application guidance and fleet requirements. The label does not replace axle, load, service and regulatory checks.

How should I choose between 11R22.5 and 295/75R22.5?

They use different notation and can be similar in overall size, but they are not automatically interchangeable. Confirm vehicle, rim, load, clearance and manufacturer data.

Send a quote request that can be priced properly

Include your tyre sizes, quantities, preferred brands or quality tier, destination port and target timing. Thai Tire can then confirm current availability, a practical size mix and the next export step.
